OM NAMO NARAYANAYA NAMAH:
This is an attempt to narrate our mission to visit the 108 Divya Desams.
Triggered by a small discussion self and my husband had way back last year suddenly we decided to complete the mission within a timeframe of two years. With Emperuman’s grace and anugraham, we have so far completed 82 out of 106. (the last two being celestial abodes).
Each and every temple is unique in nature. We got fascinated by the rich cultural and religious heritage each of our purana
temple depicts. Through this blog I will be sharing our experiences including certain tips for devotees who wants to take this mission.
Let me first start by giving a brief description of what is a “Divya Desam”.
Likewise, Lord Shiva, the other major deity in Hinduism, is similarly associated with the Paadal Petra Sthalams, 275 Shiva temples which are praised in the Tevaram canon by the 63 Nayanars.
With Perumal’s grace, after completing the visit of divya desams, we have an ambition to start off with the saivaite “padal petra sthalangal”, Pancha bootha thalangal”, Dwadasa Jyothir Linga Darisanam etc.,
Given below is the list of the Divyadesam temples segregated geographically. I will be soon starting off with Malai Nattu Divya Desam where we started our endeavour.
Om Namo Narayanaya! Om Namo Vasudevaya!!
